Synopsis

Every Second Counts by Sophie Mckenzie

Nat and Charlie are on the run, and in more danger than ever ...Nowhere is safe for Charlie and Nat. They have each other, but Roman Riley's networks could reach them at any time. Charlie believes the only option is to go undercover in Riley's team, and sneaks away from Nat to pursue her plan alone. Nat is desperate to find Charlie, but his family are in danger and Riley is coming ever closer. Even if Nat and Charlie can find each other again, could being together be even more dangerous than being apart...?

About the Author

Sophie Mckenzie

Sophie McKenzie was born and brought up in London, where she still lives with her teenage son.

She worked as a journalist and magazine editor until she was made redundant, at which point she seized the opportunity to pursue her ambition to become a writer and enrolled in a creative writing course.

Her debut was the multi-award winning Girl, Missing (2006), and she is also the author of Blood Ties and sequel, Blood Ransom, The Medusa Project series, Luke and Eve trilogy and most recent novels, the thrilling Split Second and Every Second Counts. She has clocked up numerous national and regional book awards, including the Red House Children’s Book Award, has been a featured World Book Day author twice and has twice been longlisted for the Carnegie Medal.

Her first book for adults, Close My Eyes, sold almost 100,000 copies, received rave reviews and was a Richard and Judy Book Club choice.
