The Lovereading4Kids comment

A moving contemporary tale of family, love and loss from the author of Last Chance Angel. Laura's dad had died but why having moved into her grandmother's home does he appear ghostlike in the house and why does her mum refuse to talk about his death? And that, together with getting to grips with a new home and new friends, isn't everything Laura must contend with.

Synopsis

No Going Back by Alex Gutteridge

Fifteen-year-old Laura gets the shock of her life when she moves to rural Derbyshire
and finds the ghost of her dead father in her grandmother’s home. At first Laura is
overjoyed to see him, but as time passes she begins to wonder why her dad is
finding it so difficult to move on, and why her mother still refuses to talk about his
death. What is the secret that has been kept from her for all these years?

About the Author

Alex Gutteridge was born in Leicestershire and has lived there ever since, earning her the rather dubious title of 'woolly back'!

Alex has a real fear of spiders, Maths and hermetically sealed packages but cannot get enough of raspberries, the colour Blue and swinging as high as she can go on her daughter's swing!
