Daddy, would you like a sandwich, with all your favourite things...? This book lets you join one little girl on her quest to make her father the perfect sandwich, whether he likes it or not...

Daddy's Sandwich by Pip Jones

From Squishy McFluff author Pip Jones and bright new talent Laura Hughes, this is a brilliantly funny and charming picture book perfect for ages 3+ and for Fathers' Day gifts.

When a little girl offers to make her distracted daddy a sandwich, readers will assume they know what's coming. She begins by adding butter, cheese, and tomatoes to crusty white bread, but before long, she's throwing in personal and household items that her dad loves, including his slippers, tool belt, TV remote, and cell phone. Eventually, the girl starts to pile onto the sandwich all the things she loves, including her jigsaws and wading pool! As the items get sillier and sillier, the child adds a giant squirt of ketchup and then climbs to the top of the towering sandwich concoction, knowing that she is the one thing that Daddy loves most of all. The little girl looks darling and slightly mischievous, while the expression on the father's face when he sees the sandwich is a perfect mixture of sheepishness and horrified surprise. ?VERDICT Kids will love groaning over all of the crazy ingredients, and then they'll want to make a sandwich for someone they love! - School Library Journal (Sally James, South Hillsborough ?Elementary School, Hillsborough, CA) All the illustrations are packed with comic detail, wit and movement and exude extraordinary child appeal. The cumulative text is simple but the hilarious twist at the end packs a real punch. Young children will plead to hear it again and again.

-- The Bookbag Intent on making a snack for her father, a thoughtful young girl creates a monumental sub, in Daddy's Sandwich, from Pip Jones. Even Dagwood would be impressed when she decides to include everything that Daddy really likes, from slightly stinky cheese and jelly beans to pop-up books, jigsaw puzzles, and Mum's bubble bath. Laura Hughes's colorfully quirky illustrations complement the imaginative and lighthearted tribute to dads everywhere as the sandwich reaches epic proportions.

--Kirkus Reviews What small child would not love this amazing picture book to bits!?
