The Lovereading4Kids comment

First day nerves at school are handled brilliantly here so that no child heading off on his or her first day will feel anything other than total confidence in themselves and come home at the end of the day very happy. Green Bananas make reading fun.

Synopsis

Jungle School by Elizabeth, Davison, Roz Laird

It's Jani's first day at school and she's nervous. Will the other monkeys be friendly? Will they all stare at her? Jani is in a wheelchair, and this makes her different. But, thanks to her sense of cheekiness, she makes friends and has a very nice first day at school indeed. This book stars a monkey with a sense of fun.

About the Author

Elizabeth, Davison, Roz Laird

Elizabeth Laird was born in New Zealand in 1943 but she grew up in London. She has lived in many parts of the world, including Ethiopia, Malaysia, Iraq and Lebanon. She now lives in Britain with her husband, David McDowall, who writes on the Middle East. Their two grown-up children come and go from time to time.

Elizabeth began her writing career by writing stories and textbooks for speakers of other languages who were learning English. When her own children were small, she started writing children's books, and has been a full time writer for some years. Her inspiration comes from many places, from her own childhood, and from her travels.
