The Lovereading4Kids comment

As every parent knows, a good ‘night night, snuggle down’ book is invaluable, and Good Night Like This is a particularly lovely take on the theme. It’s night-time and the baby animals are being tucked into bed, half page flaps showing the yawning before, and then the fast-asleep after. The colour palette changes gradually from pinky-orange to warm reassuring purples as the pages turn, and there are sparkly stars twinkling on the last page. The rhyming text is a joy too: the cats are ‘snorey and furry, stretchy and purry’ while ducks are described as ‘tickly and feathery, in any old weathery’. ~ Andrea Reece

Synopsis

Good Night Like This by Mary Murphy

From the creator of A Kiss Like This and Say Hello Like This, comes a third Like This novelty title - a gorgeous exploration of the many ways animals snuggle down to sleep, and the perfect read-aloud for parents and babies to share at bedtime.

The perfect bedtime read, snuggle down with this adorable new book from Mary Murphy as she invites you into lots of different little snorey, twitchy, cuddly animals' homes as they get ready to go to sleep. With a beautiful sleepy action on every split-page, a lulling, rhythmical text and a cast of cute animal families, this book is sure to emit lots of oooh, aaaahs and ...zzzzzz.

About the Author

As a child, Mary Murphy was a constant reader. Her favourite books included Mary Poppins, Peter Pan and Tom’s Midnight Garden. She also loved any stories about animals. Mary was the third of six children.

Mary lives in Galway, Ireland, and describes herself as "fairly outdoorish, but not sporty". She loves walking, swimming, reading and cycling. Mary studied Illustration and Design in Dublin before freelancing as an illustrator. She has always written for pleasure, and soon began developing ideas for children’s books following the antics of characters she had already visualised. A technique she sometimes uses is to draw the character in different situations, and then see what follows on from there.

I love finding new books to read. My mummy and me look at the new ones coming out. I have written reviews of some of them!

You give me age appropriate ideas of books I can read and buy for the children and find out what other children their age think of them too.

It is THE website to use for narrowing down your search for any book. Definitely knocks the socks off any other book review website.

It has introduced my children to books we hadn’t come across before. Real children’s reviews gives a great insight into what others think to
