The Lovereading4Kids comment

One of our Books of the Year 2015 - December 2015 Book of the Month Jane Hissey’s Old Bear stories make perfect bedtime reading: warm-hearted and so reassuring. Many of her best-loved characters feature in these stories and the more threadbare her bears and toys are, the more authentic and lovable they seem. Her illustrations are so realistic that you really feel you could reach out and stroke the bears and it’s testament to her skill as an author that that’s what every reader will want to do. The stories are soothing and often have a gentle moral about friendship and working together. There are particularly seasonal stories here, including The Warm Snowman, but this is a collection for bedtimes all year round. ~ Andrea Reece
