The Lovereading4Kids comment
Children will totally identify with Choochie Pooh. Little he might be, but he’s still irritated and frustrated when his owner won’t treat him like an ordinary dog. It’s a series of daily humiliations: he’s called silly names, fed embarrassing mini-treats and kissed in public! When he goes to the park, a mini-puppy-treat-eating-Choochie-Pooh in a handbag, he’s sure the other dogs won’t play with him, but he’s wrong! This funny picture book with its little dogs’ eye-view of the world will be much enjoyed by anyone used to being the smallest in the room, and might give bigger people something to think about too. Kate Hindley brings Choochie Pooh and friends to gloriously boisterous life in her vivid, detailed illustrations. ~ Andrea Reece

Don't Call Me Choochie Pooh! by Sean Taylor
This dog doesn't want to be carried in a handbag (how embarrassing!) or eat heart-shaped Mini Puppy Treats (I mean, come ON!) and under no circumstances does he ever want to be called ...Choochie Pooh! If only his owner understood. All he wants to do is play with the big dogs in the park - chase sticks, jump in muddy puddles and be an ordinary, proper dog.
Quirky, amusing and original. We have read this countless times already Review Reader, Lovereading 4 Kids Those I've shared this [book] with delighted in Sean Taylor's narrator and fully endorsed his sentiments over his owner's humiliating behaviour. Kate Hindley gives the whole canine crew real personalities in her hilarious portrayals and I love the way she shows everything from their ground-level perspective. Red Reading Hub
Easy-on-the-ear writing and amusing situations all show a doggie's point of view with clear understanding and clever humour while wittily stylized illustrations show plenty of girlie patterns in pretty colours contrasted with earthy coloured splashes in the doggy scenes of mayhem. For any child who's ever been embarrassed by an infantilizing, over demonstrative parent, this is the book. Books for Keeps
the misdemeanors presented in this delightful story will have you laughing out loud and paying much attention from now on to the way in which you treat your pets! A delightful story with vibrant illustration that captures the essence of the words brilliantly and will have children as well as their grown-ups laughing out loud at the silliness of it all.
