The Lovereading4Kids comment
Bear is making his way to bed, but he seems to be taking a circuitous route. He goes through the jungle, on a bike, with a tiger; past the North Pole, where polar bears are serving ice cream; to the Mouse Hotel, in a jeep with a sheep; until at last, after his bath – spot the bison in the basin – he’s tucked in with his boy. Ian Whybrow’s rhyming text is full of surprises, as are the illustrations, each page packed with Axel Scheffler’s smiling, bright-eyed animal characters and full of humorous details. There are flaps to lift on every page – watch out for Ticklemetoo on the last page! A book that will be more rewarding on each new reading. ~ Andrea Reece
