The Lovereading4Kids comment
With the action taking place in deepest, darkest night, this is a perfect bedtime book. Something in the forest is making a horrible noise and disturbing the animals. Owl, Bear, Mouse and Moose decide it must be a monster and hide in a tree, squeezing up to make room for Wolf Cub, until the inevitable happens and the bough breaks. As they fall down, each of them cries out, and we find out who’s been making the AAA-OOO! Every page is a glorious deep black, the animals picked out in vibrant colours and it’s beautiful to look at. Young children will enjoy joining in with the animal noises and the story shows how cosy night-time can be, even if you are afraid of the dark. ~ Andrea Reece
The Great AAA-OOO by Jonny Lambert
As Mouse scampers homewards through the dark, rackety wood, he hears an awful AAA-OOO! What could be making that horrible howl? Could it be Owl, Moose, Bear or Goose? Or could it be ... a monster?
Packed with stylish illustrations and lyrical text from talented author-illustrator Jonny Lambert (I Love You More and More, Little Why), The Great Aaa-Ooo is sure to become a bedtime favourite. This gorgeous animal picture book is perfect for reassuring children and toddlers who are scared of the dark or adjusting to sleeping in a big bed or in their own room.
