The Lovereading4Kids comment

A horror-fantasy time-travelling adventure - the sequel to the acclaimed Black Arts! Devil's Blood is an extraordinary story not to be missed! Perfect for those who like a thrilling historical yarn with swashbuckling swordfights, desperate thieves, impish sidekicks, romance and peril and dark powers buried beneath the streets of London.

Devil's Blood by Andrew Prentice, Jonathan Weil

Time works differently for devils ...In the place that we call Hell, the Lord of Swarms is plotting his conquest. In the shambles of London's Smithfield, Jack the Darksman sets off to steal a devil. And in a different London altogether, a wicked secret is about to be revealed. The stage is set for an adventure that will span centuries. Devils are rising once more ...

Devil's Blood delivers some fabulous characters into a well set and thoroughly believable landscape. Gripping twists and turns leave us unsure of our allies as we hurtle towards a hellish climax. A well written smorgasbord of devilment! Catherine Purcell, Reading Zone

Praise for Black Arts (prequel to Devil's Blood):

'Extremely impressive ... Black Arts is a complete, self-contained and wholly satisfying novel in its own right. This is a sparkling and intelligent debut' Philip Ardagh, Guardian

'A thrilling yarn ... Devilishly good fun' Suzi Feay, Financial Times
