The Lovereading4Kids comment

With its delicate, soft-hued artwork and a gently rhyming text that asks to be whispered, this is the perfect book for calming little pups down at the end of the day and settling them into bed. It’s evening but Little Pup is still wide awake. He plays with his friends until badger tells him it’s time for bed. Still nothing will make him yawn until Mum tucks him up with his special blanket and, ‘in the happiest warmth’ he finally falls asleep. Just the thing for bedtime reading, this lovely little book also features suggestions for discussion points around the story which parents or other adults will find useful. ~ Andrea Reece

Synopsis

Storytime: Sleep, Little Pup by Jo Parry

Little Pup cannot sleep! He has tried everything - counting sheep, watching the stars, eating his favourite bone and playing with the mice. But nothing seems to work. What will help poor little pup snooze? With a big sigh Little Pup returns to his basket. Mum appears with a present for her tired little puppy - a soft, cosy blanket. Mum tucks him in, turns off the light and kisses him goodnight. Snuggled up and feeling loved, Little Pup is soon fast asleep and dreaming.

Jo Parry's beautiful illustrations combine with gently rhyming text to create a soothing story for bedtime.
