The Lovereading comment:
Lola is adored by everyone, so much so that all the doggy tit-bits she’s given are making her very out of shape. All her friends seem to be enjoying the doggy playground so much more than her and when it comes to ‘chase’ she can’t run fast enough. Lola’s owner Marcie decides something must be done and a wonderful story of encouragement and achievement against the odds is the result. A joy to read with your toddler.
Synopsis
You Can Do It, Lola! by Lindsey GardinerLola is Marcie's adorable little dog. People just can't help giving her doggy treats and Lola just can't help eating them! In fact she's becoming a little out of shape. When Lola starts having difficulty squeezing into her kennel, Marcie decides that something has to be done. She introduces some healthy eating and exercise into their daily routine. But Lola's chums in the park are the ones who really know how to boost her energy levels so that she can enjoy the doggy playground as much as they do. Lindsey Gardiner has produced a feel-good follow-up to "The Loopy Life of Lola" with this story about encouragement, achievement and enjoyment!
About The Author
Lindsey was born and brought up in Dundee, Scotland. She studied Printed Textiles at the University of Dundee before going on to take an MA in Textiles at Winchester School Of Art. Much of her work was inspired by various trips abroad, especially to Amsterdam, Prague, New York and Toronto. Another inspiration was "anything with a smiley face!". Lindsey enjoyed art that was "expressive and quirky" and this can be seen in her own work.
Lindsey is busy as a part time lecturer in Printed Textiles at the University of Dundee as well as being a freelance textile designer with commissions from Habitat, Marks & Spencers and BHS among others.
More recently, Lindsey has turned her talents to writing and illustrating children's books.
