The Lovereading4Kids comment

July 2017 Debut of the Month There aren’t many picture books that make readers gasp out loud, but Reece Wykes’s debut certainly will. The artwork is eye-catching, the weight and vitality of the images will hold the attention of adults, while children will be delighted by his central characters, two bored gorillas who dare each other to do increasingly crazy things, from eating a bug, to eating a whole tree, to eating … well, suffice it to say the last dare is a quite a mouthful! Equally funny and shocking, this will set everyone talking. ~ Andrea Reece

Synopsis

I Dare You by Reece Wykes

Two bored gorillas decide to play a game of dares. Eating dares. Who will end up the big-bellied winner, and who the sore-bellied loser? This dry, funny picture book debut is pitch perfect for children who love outsmarting their friends.

Reviews

This stunningly illustrated debut is reminiscent of the deadpan humour of Jon Klassen... A talent to watch. * Daily Mail * Reece Wykes shows off some stunning illustrative talent in his debut picture book for the always-impressive Andersen Press list * Books for Keeps * Utterly hilarious with glorious illustrations * Picture Books Blogger *
