The Lovereading4Kids comment

This funny doggy tale has a special message for us all. The path of true love is never smooth and there’s a particular obstacle in front of Philip. He loves his new neighbour Penelope, with her kind eyes, waggy tail and beautiful smile. The problem as Philip sees it is that Penelope looks very tall, while Philip is so short his ears sweep the floor when he walks. Helped by his friend Ralph, Philip tries various methods to make him taller. It’s very funny – judiciously placed flaps adding to the fun – and all turns out to have been unnecessary anyway. Heaps of silliness but an abundance of real feelings too make this a joyful book to share. ~ Andrea Reece

She has kind eyes, a waggy tail, and the most beautiful smile. But there is a slight problem. While Penelope is very tall, Philip is not. He's too tiny to kiss her, even on tiptoes! He needs a plan to make himself tall. But maybe he just needs be himself ...With hilarious lift-the-flaps, this brilliant picture book features an uplifting message about loving who you are and will leave children (and dog lovers) in fits of giggles.

About the Author
