The Lovereading4Kids comment

This is an incredibly powerful, provocative and compelling novel that has equal appeal to teenagers as it does to adults. The themes of love and longing combine together to create a book that is not just beautifully written but also one that makes you sit up and think about relationships of all kinds as well as the importance of relationships.

Centre Of My World by Andreas Steinhofel

If you only want one collection of poetry on your young child’s bookshelf then it has to be this stunning collection by best-selling author Michael Rosen and illustrator Quentin Blake whose pictures complement and bring to life the words so perfectly. Alone or together with you your child you will be totally transported into the words and the pictures and if the book wasn’t enough it also comes with an audio CD of the poems read by the author.

With this masterful tale of sex, love and redemption, Andreas Steinhofel gathers up all preconceived notions of the crossover novel and smashes them to smithereens. It's as powerful, as quietly compelling, as a loaded gun. Meg Rosoff, author of HOW I LIVE NOW One of the increasing number of crossover novels that punch full weight both in style and subject. -- Meg Rosoff Guardian [Phil's] quietly contemplative portrayal of love, loneliness, hope and friendship is both lyrically written and beautifully translated. -- Kate Agnew Guardian An exquisitely, subtly crafted and demanding work ... wonderfully life-affirming. Books for Keeps Sad and beautiful and hard to forget. Carousel
