The Lovereading comment:
Shortlisted for the ‘Early Years – Best New Illustrator Award’ and what wonderful illustrations they are and complemented brilliantly by the hilarious storyline of dad, who hates animals and a child who loves them and persuades him to go to the zoo with riotous consequences!!

Synopsis

Dad's Bug Bear by Peter Dixon
Dad hates pets. So a family trip to the zoo is not his idea of fun. When they arrive - disaster! Two African elephants have broken down the walls and all the animals have escaped. Dad insists on rushing home to make sure no run away animals go anywhere near their house. But when they get back, there is something very nasty on their doorstep...

Reviews

The busily, beautiful and energetic illustrations of this humorous story will capture the interest and imagination of most children, aged between four and eight years old. This is a fabulous and funfilled story that will extend most children's descriptive vocabulary. --Martine Horvath, EYE:
Early Years Educator
