The Lovereading4Kids comment

Enjoy thinking of all the most outlandish pets – including a shark even! – in this witty picture book which shows how one smart boy gets round his distracted mother. Jack’s mother dismisses Jack’s suggestions of outlandish pets such as an elephant (too big to take on holiday), a lion (too hungry to feed), a polar bear (wouldn’t like the central heating). But she does agree to a “lovely little puppy”. A foldout spread shows that Jack has other ideas of a good kind of a dog for a pet!

Synopsis

What Pet To Get? by Emma Dodd

Jack longs for a pet, something BIG, something EXCITING…like an elephant…or a lion. Maybe even a giraffe! But Mum’s not so sure about Jack’s suggestions, and she always has a reason! Then Jack alights upon a solution that he thinks will please them.
