The Lovereading4Kids comment

This is chilling stuff but also completely unputdownable. The strained relationship between father and son is deftly handled and the setting is vividly portrayed. You’re sure to urge on the son as he desperately seeks to evade capture by his father.

About the Author

Tim Wynne-jones

Tim was born in Cheshire and moved to Canada at the age of four. He now lives in the wilderness in Ontario, in a house he designed himself, which sits on 76 acres of rough and tumble landscape, the perfect inspiration for The Survival Game.

Tim began his writing career one summer holiday using a rented Smith Corona electronic typewriter. His first book won a prize, and Tim decided “this writing thing might be fun”.Since then, he has won numerous awards including the Canadian Library Association’s Children’s Book of the Year Award three times; the American Library Association Popular Paperback for Young Adults; the Edgar Award of the Mystery Writers of America for The Boy in the Burning House, and the Governor General’s Award, twice, for Some of the Kinder Planets and The Survival Game.

A few little known facts about Tim:

- He co-wrote sixteen songs for the Jim Henson show Fraggle Rock.

- He is lead singer and songwriter in a band called Louis the Dreamer.
