Sundae Girl by Cathy Cassidy

Jude's family are crazy, quirky and bizarre. Her mum brings her nothing but trouble and her dad thinks he's Elvis. All she wants is a hassle-free life - but it's not easy when she's chasing a trail of broken promises. Things go from bad to worse, but could the floppy-haired boy from school be her knight on shining rollerblades?

About the Author

Cathy Cassidy

"I was born in 1962 in Coventry (scarily ancient, I know). I wrote my first picture book for my little brother when I was eight or nine. I loved making comics, too - pages and pages of picture stories, features and competitions. I'd sell my homemade comic to a friend for 5p, then claim it back and sell it again to someone else; they didn't have photocopiers back then!"

Cathy has been writing fabulous stories ever since. Her books have sold over one million copies in the UK alone. She is the bestselling author of Dizzy, Driftwood, Indigo Blue, Scarlett, Sundae Girl, Lucky Star, Gingersnaps and Angel Cake. The Chocolate Box Girls is a sumptuous series starring sassy sisters, super-cool boys and one of Cathy's biggest loves - chocolate.

Cathy Cassidy is Puffin's top-selling author for girls. She was an art teacher, a magazine editor and an agony aunt before becoming a full-time writer. She has worked at Shout magazine and previously at Jackie, the magazine named after Jacqueline Wilson. Cathy tours extensively around the UK - meeting over 10,000 young readers in 2012. She has twice won the prestigious 'Queen of Teen' award. Cathy lives with her husband, two teenage children, two dogs, two cats and a rabbit.
