The Lovereading4Kids comment
A perfect first reader – three stories about Jack who thinks his Mum is a little bit odd and a little bit embarrassing until he has a friend home and discovers that odd can be fun, too.
Jack's Little Party by Bob Graham
It's Jack's birthday and his friend Sam is coming round after school for a little party. Jack's birthday cake is a homemade shark and doesn't look as good as the huge windmill cake that Sam had for his birthday, nor is there a DJ, treasure hunt or a magician. But when Sam's mum comes to collect him, Jack realizes just how lucky he is.
