The Lovereading4Kids comment

Humour and madcap action by the bucket load. You can’t fail to get the most reluctant of readers enthused about reading once they’ve been introduced to Blart, the far from average boy. You’re in for a treat.

This is the first in the series which also includes Blart 2 and Blart 3: The Boy Who Set Sail on a Questionable Quest.

Blart by Dominic Barker

Blart is not an average boy. He lives on a pig farm with his grandfather and doesn't care about being heroic, but he does know that if you want to catch a pig you have to sneak up behind it, and take it by surprise. Then, a great wizard visits and explains that humankind depends on Blart joining his quest.

'ridiculously enjoyable anti-fairytale a witty and engaging treat. I read it in one sitting with a big smile on my face.' The Bookseller

About the Author

Dominic Barker

Dominic Barker was born in 1966 in Southport only months after England won the World Cup. He studied English at Birmingham University, and subsequently was a stand-up comic with the likes of Frank Skinner and Alan Davies, then a secondary school teacher, before writing his first series for young readers about a teenage detective, Mickey Sharp. Dominic has since written three anarchic spoof-quests featuring the hapless hero Blart (the boy who didn’t want to save the world) and is currently working on a new stand alone novel called Adam and the Arkonauts. Dominic lives in Spain.
