Julia Eccleshare's comment:
From mooning teenager to mum - a moving story of the high price of adolescent innocence. Emily's first-person story tells of how she loves being a member of the Kissing Club, its signifying ring shows that she's not going to have sex until she gets married. But then Emily gets pregnant and that wasn't what she was expecting....
Who is Julia Eccleshare ?
Synopsis
The Kissing Club by Julia ClarkeWhen I was 14 I joined the Kissing Club. I became a professional virgin and also gave up telling lies. The first bit was pretty easy - the second was pretty hard...Emily loves being part of the Kissing Club. She loves the feeling of being special, and she loves the ruby ring her parents bought her when she joined. It's a symbol that means everyone knows she's made a promise not to have sex until she gets married. So how on earth has she ended up pregnant?
