The Lovereading4Kids comment

The second in the Icemark Chronicles picking up 20 years after The Cry of the Icemark with new generations of allies and enemies taking on unfinished battles for the Icemark. This very original and at times quirky novel of power and personal discovery has the incredible ability of grabbing you by the throat and capturing you until you’ve turned the last page. Last Battle of the Icemark is the finale to the trilogy.

Blade Of Fire by Stuart Hill

Twenty years have passed since the tiny kingdom of the Icemark last defended itself from invasion. Now the imperial invader Scipio Bellorum is back - joined by his brutal twin sons. The Icemark's fate rests with Queen Thirrin, Oskan Witchfather - and their five strong-willed children. But not all the royal siblings are ready for the task. What of Medea, the dark daughter, poisoning the family from within? Or Sharley, the youngest and weakest son, strangely foretold to return with a blade of fire?

'Hill's sequel is even better than his first' The Bookseller

Praise for the Icemark trilogy:

‘The writing is as crisp and clear and the snowy landscape Hill depicts so beautifully.’ Sunday Telegraph

‘A most satisfying, absorbing and compelling read.’ Carousel
