The Lovereading4Kids comment

More spine-tingling and menacing adventure from the authors of Tunnels and Deeper will once again take you way beneath the earth, in a subterranean world that’s almost too frightening to imagine and yet it will pull you into the story thereby making it strangely compelling. Meeting all manner of creatures on his terrifying plummet into the void, the 14 year old boy archaeologist and his gang never expect to meet a pair of villainous 12 year old girls with a virus to spread and a score to settle...

Freefall: Tunnels book 3 by Roderick Gordon, Brian Williams

As he plummets down a subterranean void, it looks like the end for Will Burrows. But it’s just the beginning of a new adventure as he comes up against giant carnivorous spiders and the deadly Brights, and far worse than any of these ... a pair of twelve-year-old girls with a score to settle.

Praise for the Tunnels series so far:

'Does it live up to the hype? Yes' Daily Express

'well-paced, exciting and - in places - frightening and bloody.' Philip Ardagh, Guardian

'A genuine Potter-esque momentum to the story.' Observer
