The Lovereading4Kids comment

Join in the happiness of this wonderfully cheering rhyme freshly retold in an animal version. Every animal can do something; the elephant can flap his ears, the toucan can clack his beak, the kangaroo can jump and bump and all readers can join in, especially if they also listen to the rousing CD that accompanies the book.

Synopsis

If You're Happy and You Know it (Book & CD) by Jan Ormerod

'One day a little girl felt happy. So she sang, "If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands." "No, no, no," said the small brown dog. "If you're happy and you know it, wave your tail-swirl, twirl!"' Show you're happy the way the animals do with this vibrant, involving text, now with a lively audio CD to sing along to!

About the Author

Jan Ormerod

Jan Ormerod (1946 - 2013) grew up in the fifties, in a series of small towns in Western Australia, with her three older sisters. As a child she drew constantly and compulsively, inspired by beautifully drawn schoolgirl annuals from England and secretly acquired American comics that were forbidden by her parents.

Her books have largely been a celebration and savouring of the positive experience of parenthood she truly had not anticipated–the fun, the warmth, and the love. Jan was acutely aware that picture books are almost always shared by the child and a caring adult.

She published more than 50 picture books in her lifetime, won many honours and awards, and her work is published in more than 20 countries.
