Julia Eccleshare's comment:
Best loved, classic nursery stories are vividly brought to life in Tony Ross’s humorous and vigorous illustrations. Follow the charmingly agile goats as they trip-trott over the bridge having dispatched the hairy troll SPLASH into the river with a well-aimed kick. See how the three little pigs keep their houses safe from the predatory wolf and watch how Little Red-Riding Hood is outwitted by another wolf as she visits her grandma but is saved in the end. Also available is the companion book My Favourite Nursery Rhymes.
Lovereading comment:
Illustrated in Tony Ross's inimitable style, My First Nursery Stories is perfect for reading aloud and sharing with even the youngest child. It is a must-have selection of classic nursery stories that have stood the test of time.

About The Author
Born in 1939 in Wandsworth, South London, Tony never though about a career in art, but says he fell into it after his dream of being a cowboy disintegrated when a letter he wrote to John Wayne was never replied to.
After Liverpool College of Art, Tony became an art director at an Advertising Agency but after a particularly bad day in the office he gave up his job to go into teaching at Manchester Polytechnic.
His first book was published in 1976. As well as his own books he has illustrated books for authors such as Roald Dahl, Paula Danziger and Michael Palin. His series of books written with Jeanne Willis featuring the extra terrestrial teacher, Dr Xargle, has established a huge following of fans.
