A World Book Day 'Recommended Read' for 2011

This is a delightful new take on the classic fable of the hare and the tortoise. Full of shining cars and screeching tyres, it's a picture book for drivers of all ages, young and old. So many different cars and so many very unusual drivers of them will delight all those to love the thought of speed! Who’s driving the limousine? Who’s driving the racing car? Each answer is a delightful surprise and the repetitive structure of the text makes this a book to enjoy again and again.

A word from the publisher Julia Marshall:

“I chose this book because of its exuberance, the strong graphics, and the fun of matching the right driver to the right vehicle. It’s a great book for reading aloud to young children.”

Who's Driving? by Leo Timmers

Who’s driving the fire engine? Elephant! He is driving to the fire station. Wheeooh wheeooh wheeooh!

Who’s driving the racing car? Hare!
He’s driving to the racing track. Vroooom!

But who gets there first? Was it Cat? Giraffe, in her convertible? No, it’s the turtle, on his little legs.
