Synopsis
I Love My Mummy by Giles Andreae, Emma DoddAbout The Author
Giles (pictured) lives with his wife and three children in Notting Hill and
Wiltshire. He writes highly successful children's books. The first,
Rumble in the Jungle, was an instant success and has sold more than
half a million copies. The more recent Dinosaurs Galore continues the
rhyming fun and vibrant illustrations that established Giraffes Can't
Dance as a perennial children's favourite. The Lion Who Wanted to Love
won the Federation of Children's Book Group's Best Picture Book Award
1998. Giles more recent and equally enchanting titles are There's a
House Inside My Mummy, Heaven's Having You, K is For Kissing A Cool
Kangeroo and The Magic Donkey Ride. Giles's children's books have, to
date, sold more than 1.5 million copies, making him one of the most
successful children's authors working today.
Giles Andreae is also
the creator of Purple Ronnie, Britain's favourite stickman. This
phenomenally successful cartoon character has made Giles the country's
top-selling poet and an icon of contemporary popular culture.
Emma studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Saint Martin's College, London. Upon leaving she worked in advertising in London (clients included BMW) and Los Angeles (working for Pentagram New York and Weight Watchers).
She has also worked in animation and editorial - clients still include The Guardian newspaper. Emma is very much an outdoor person - she loves light and space and spends a lot of time sketching and drawing as well as walking Bart, her dog.
