The Lovereading4Kids comment

A Useful book about Families.

From the author of We Love Bunk Beds! comes an equally warm-hearted, funny story about sibling love and envy, with a sweet and very sticky ending! Will definitely make you laugh out loud once again!

Synopsis

It's MY Birthday! A Shirley and Doris Book by Paula Metcalf

The elephant sisters, first revealed in We Love Bunk Beds are back. It's Shirley's birthday, and she's almost as excited as her little sister, Doris. But her hand-me-down party dress isn't as pretty as Shirley's brand new one, and not one of the presents Shirley's friends bring to the party is for Doris. It's all becoming a bit of a disappointment

About the Author

Paula Metcalf made up her mind to be an author and illustrator at the tender age of sixteen. Her graceful, beautifully lit artwork is influenced by dance and her love of Eastern European fairy tales. Paula spent a year in Slovakia, but has now returned to Cambridge, where she lives with her cats.
