The Lovereading comment:

For footie mad children this series by Dan Freedman are the perfect books to get kids reading and may be to becoming a brilliant footballer too. They’re real page-turners as well as being realistic and believable. On a penalty shoot-out this series maximum scores.

About The Author

Dan Freedman

Dan Freedman was born in London in 1977. During school and university he did work experience at, among other places, Arsenal FC, Radio Five LIVE, Carlton TV, The Mail on Sunday and Sky Sports. In 2000, after he had graduated and gone travelling around Australia and New Zealand, Dan became Editor of The FA. He also writes all the programmes for England matches and The FA Cup Final.

It was when he wanted to buy a present for an 11 year-old football mad boy that the idea to write the book ‘Kick Off’ actually struck. There didn’t seem to be a football novel for kids. He couldn’t understand it. He knew that if someone had given him one when he was 11 that he probably would have read it in two days flat. He also knew that writing about football was something that he could do. So he did it.
