Boys grow up quickly in the West … Billy Joe Ford is just 11 years old when
his father is shot dead in front of him. His future looks bleak until he hooks up with a gang of boys – orphans like himself. Jess, Pete, Shane and Andy are used to watching out for each other and they welcome Billy Joe into the team. Soon, he knows that when danger comes calling, he can trust them with his life.

This is Book two of the Badlands series, following on from Death in Drygulch. A range war breaks out between the cattlemen and smallholders who settle to try to farm. Billy Joe and the boys are caught up in the middle of it.

About the Author

Eldridge James was born and brought up in a small town in Texas. He learned to ride
almost before he could walk, and spent most of his childhood astride his pony Patch.
