These ladies know how to enjoy themselves, whether it’s sunbathing by the pool or shopping- trolley grand prix. And boy, do they have some tales to tell and ideas to share. All you have to do is listen.
Franziska Kalch was born in 1983 in Zschopau, Germany, where as a child she wouldn’t have swapped her colored pencils for anything. After graduating, she studied visual communication at the Bauhaus-University Weimar, focusing on illustration. Her teachers were Jutta Bauer and Sophie Schmidt, both well-known German illustrators. Soon she developed a love for children’s books. In the summer of 2007, Little Old Ladies helped her earn her diploma. Franziska is currently working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer near Chemnitz, Germany. And she can’t get enough of books; her collection of children’s titles is growing constantly. When she’s not painting or drawing, she is a passionate cook. Cakes and cookies are two of her favourite things to bake.
