The Lovereading4Kids comment

Shortlisted for The People's Book Prize 2012 - a national competition aimed at discovering new and unknown works: a truly democratic book prize decided exclusively by the public. To find out how to vote, click here.

A Lovereading4kids 'Great Read' you may have missed 2011 selection.

Written and illustrated by a fresh new talent, this is the story of a likeable, well-meaning and irrepressible dog who thinks his name is NO. Simple, short and punchy, this is a picture book children (and adults) will want to read again and again.

Synopsis

No! by Marta Altes

The little dog in this family works very hard to be good. His family must love him very much. But there's one thing he doesn't quite understand...

Reviews

'The story is simple enough for little ones to enjoy, and funny enough to entertain older children too. I very much enjoyed reading it aloud since you get to shout 'No!' a lot in a variety of different ways!' - The Bookbag
