The Lovereading4Kids comment

Classic story-telling from the master of the detective novel. Ace detective Sherlock Holmes and his partner Dr Watson are called to a house where something sinister has taken place. The police cannot get any clues as to why there is the body of a dead man with a look of horror on his face but no sign of a struggle. Or, what the letters written in blood on the walls could possibly mean. With his customary powers of deduction Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson follow the threads of the mystery through grimy backwaters of London all the way to South America. Rich in detail and full of surprise, it is a gripping story. A second story, 'The Country of the Saints,' is also included in this volume.

Synopsis

A Study in Scarlet & Other Sherlock Holmes Adventures by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

If you love a good story, then look no further. Oxford Children's Classics bring together the most unforgettable stories ever told. They're books to treasure and return to again and again. When Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson are called to a sinister house, they discover the body of a man whose face is filled with horror. Yet there are no signs of a struggle, just some letters written on the wall in blood. The police are baffled, but the brilliant Holmes uses his powers of deduction to trace the mystery through the damp, murky streets of London and back to the sun-scorched plains of America.
