The Lovereading4Kids comment

For those with a strong appetite, this is gripping from start to finish. There’s a deep, dark horror at the heart of this follow-up to Hunted. When a secret doorway opens up between two worlds, unimaginable darkness and evil follows…It happens every one hundred years and now is the time…Callum is caught between the two worlds as a human coven joins forces with the dark beings of the Netherworld. The question is, will he survive?

Synopsis

The Shadowing Skinned by Adam Slater

This title presents unmissable new horror! Black Annis smiles. Her pointed teeth do not gleam; they are black with age and the bloodstains of her countless victims. She looks up at the human child - surely meant to be in bed and asleep at this time of night. Some things don't change. Every hundred years the gateway opens between their world and ours. A human coven has joined forces with the dark beings of the Netherworld. A flesh-eating witch is on the loose. Evil is growing. And Callum is caught in the middle. The Shadowing has begun...

Reviews

'Hugely enjoyable, exciting and gruesome ... Like Darren Shan, Anthony Horowitz and Jon Mortlock, [Slater is] terrific at using dark folklore to spine-tingling effect' -
The Times

‘Kept me up all night. Excellent!’ Michael Grant, author of the massive hit, Gone

About the Author

Adam Slater doesn't scare easily, which is lucky because his study overlooks a graveyard. He has a degree in Folklore and an unhealthy love of horror films, both of which helped to inspire The Shadowing books. If he wasn't a writer - and if his girlfriend would let him - he'd be a stunt driver.
