Julia Eccleshare's comment:

The best-selling Cherub series is back with its thirteenth adventure! Recruited by British Intelligence, the underage Cherub agents work undercover on some seriously dangerous missions. Now, there’s a new Cherub: Ryan is just twelve and the oldest of four orphaned brothers. And he’s been given a mission: it’s a hard one. Soon Cherub agent Ryan is an adventure involving drug smuggling and human trafficking that is so terrifying that it will go down in history for its evil and audacity. This is a heart-racing story that will satisfy all Cherub fans and new younger ones too.

Synopsis

People's Republic : Part of the Cherub series by Robert Muchamore

Twelve-year-old Ryan is CHERUB's newest recruit. He's got his first mission: infiltrating the billion-dollar Aramov criminal empire. But he's got got no idea that this routine job will lead him into an explosive adventure involving drug smugglers, illegal immigrants and human trafficking, or that his first mission will turn into one of the biggest in CHERUB's history.

Reviews

'What I particularly like about CHERUB books is the choice of issues. These teen agents aren't set against unrealistic Bond-style baddies trying to take over the world. They get embroiled with genuine contemporary issues.. this is a very popular series for good reason. It presents glamorous teen central characters. The plots are fast-moving and the language is accessible. Readers can follow characters from book to book. This one will be a hit, I am sure. ' The Bookbag

INTRODUCING ROBERT MUCHAMORE

Questions & Answers

Who is your favourite author/illustrator?
For kids books I would have to say Rene Goscinny. I loved the Asterix books and
the Little Nicholas series when I was a kid and read each one over and over.

Do you like healthy or fast food? Do you like to cook?
I quite enjoy cooking a special meal or something like that, but everyday cooking is a chore. My taste in food is quite low brow. If I go to a swanky restaurant I often find myself looking at all the fancy stuff on the menu and wishing I could just get steak and chips or a baked potato.

Are you good at sport? Do you enjoy watching, playing, supporting?
I started regularly going to Highbury when I was a teenager and I’m still a big Arsenal fan, but when it comes to playing sport I’m completely useless. I was always the kid who got picked last.

What do you like to do on the weekend?
My ideal weekend is just pottering around the house, looking at the newspapers, reading books, watching movies and listening to music.

If you had one magical power, what would it be?
I’m not really into magic, but I’d quite like a big laser. I could carry it around bookshops and threaten to melt the heads of anyone who leaves the shop without buying a CHERUB book. It would also be handy for parking attendants.

WHAT IS CHERUB?
CHERUB is a branch of British Intelligence. Cherubs are trained professionals, aged between ten and seventeen. They live on CHERUB campus, a secret facility hidden in the English countryside. For official purposes, these children do not exist.

WHAT USE ARE KIDS?
Only CHERUB agents can unearth the truth. They’re trained professionals with one essential advantage: adults never suspect that children are spying on them.

WHO ARE THEY?
There are about 300 children, mostly orphans on the CHERUB campus all training to become CHERUB agents. They are ranked according to the colour of T shirts they wear on campus. Lauren and James are brother and sister and are two of the leading CHERUB agents and have recently been awarded the Black T shirt in recognition of outstanding achievement over a number of missions.
