The story ideas helped me think about what to write.The pictures were good and funny they helped me get story ideas. I really loved this book with its colourful cover and fun illustrations. It was full of tips to help you write stories, including ideas for characters, settings and plot. I loved the way it gives you a starting point, and then you use your imagination to create a story of your own. It is easy to find your way around the book as the sections are marked with tabs, and you can turn straight to the part you want. The ideas for story titles were exciting and I especially liked the vocabulary section. There were lots of examples of different words to use – plus their meanings – to make my stories more interesting. I’m writing a story about a young girl who finds a puppy at the moment . . . I can’t wait to find out what happens in the end!

About The Author
Born and raised in Bath, Holly moved to Chichester to study English and Creative Writing, where she now lives with her husband and wallpaper-eating dog, Coco. From a young age Holly loved to write and draw – although her artistic skills are currently confined to painting and decorating, she continues to write every day. Her favourite poet is Carol Ann Duffy and The Velveteen Rabbit is her most loved childhood book.
