The Lovereading4Kids comment

Jolly chaos follows Monkey Red and Monkey Blue, the two bad monkeys who run amuck after bedtime. Together they create a riotous midnight feast; fruit salad, pancakes, popcorn - there’s food everywhere and it flies across the page in a glorious mess. And, somewhere in it all, hides their friend the chameleon. A simple rhyming text and lots to look at make this a book to savour.

There should be more books like this: in bright, appealing illustrations it tells children how people of different faiths cover their heads to show their love for God. This beautifully illustrated, board book aims to teach children, parents and educators about the shared custom of head covering across the Jewish, Sikh, Christian, Rastafarian, and Islamic faiths. Synopsis

Monkey Red, Monkey Blue by Nicki Greenberg

Monkey Red and Monkey Blue are a cheeky pair who clearly know how to have fun with a feast. And Chameleon does his best to blend into the background. Everybody has gone to bed...but not Monkey Blue, and not Monkey Red! Their mischievous friend Chameleon has a better idea: a GREAT BIG MESSY DELICIOUS Midnight Feast! Chameleon may be tricky to spot, but will he get caught in the end?

Alive with colour and movement, this is a celebration of food. Blazing with colour, joy and spaghetti, making a mess has never been so much fun. From the creator of the graphic novel adaptations of Hamlet and The Great Gatsby.

About the Author

Nicki Greenberg has had a lifelong fascination with strange creatures, especially the ones with goggly eyes. Like the octopus, Nicki is adept at camouflage. She can often be found disguised as a lawyer, but on her days off she writes and illustrates comics. Favourite subjects include zombies, New York City, pirates, gentle monsters and, of course, squids. Researching cephalopods has not put Nicki off her favourite dish: crispy fried salt-and-pepper squid.
