The Lovereading4Kids comment
March 2013 Book of the Month Wimpy Kid fans will love this new boy-diary with a difference. Saddled with the name Timmy Failure, our narrator has clearly been dealt a tough hand. Luckily, he has a perky temperament and is not easily deflected from his ambitions. Timmy founds Total Failure Inc, the best detective agency in town. Or is it??? Young readers will enjoy spotting Timmy’s rookie errors which are wittily conveyed in both the words and the engaging illustrations.
In addition to our Lovereading expert opinion for Timmy Failure a small number of children were lucky enough to be invited to review this title. Here's a taster....'This is one of the best books I've read in a long time. It is really funny… Anyone who likes 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' or 'Mr Gum' will like this book, I think it is even better.'.... Scroll down to read more reviews...
Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made by Stephan Pastis
The hilarious and ever-optimistic Timmy Failure, and his sidekick polar bear, Total, create chaos as they attempt to make sense of the world. Meet Timmy Failure, founder of the best detective agency in town - Total Failure, Inc. Timmy may only be eleven, but with the help of his polar bear, Total, he already has plans for world domination. Plans that will make his mother rich and unpaid bills a thing of the past. And plans that will defeat Corrina Corrina, The One Whose Name Shall Not Be Uttered . But she's not going away. Riotously funny, Timmy Failure is sure to have readers in stitches.

Emily Clowes, 11 - Timmy Failure is an amusing book. I would highly recommend it for others to read. It is entertaining and keeps you busy when you get bored. It was brilliant!
Adam Graham 9 - This story is a hilarious, fantastic, incredible, super-duper, out of this world exhilarating book. Nothing is as gripping as this, if you read it you will never want to put it down ever, ever, ever, ever, ever!!!!!!!!!!.(if you do you’re strange).
This will be the best ever book you will read – it will glue you to the page like cheese stuck to the carpet. Follow Timmy and Total as they run through a detective’s life until the business partners get split up: one to the zoo and the other imprisoned with homework, while their detective agency gets shut down by his mum.
Anyone who is 9+ and just loves comedy and horrific stories will adore this unbelievable adventure.
Charlie Upchurch, 9 -one of those “laugh your head off and try not to be sick” books...Click here to read the full review
Lucy Minton, 9 -This book is also brilliant because it makes me laugh, and Timmy’s rubbish detective skills mixed with his assurance that he is ‘greatness personified’ makes a brilliant read....Click here to read the full review
Benjy Randall, 9 - I would recommend the book to boys who like detective stories with a twist....Click here to read the full review
Aaryan Sheth age 10 - This is a book for a younger reader (7 – 9 years) who want an easy read. I liked all the cartoons in it as they really helped set the scene. This is quite a funny book although there is a fine line between humour and silly humour. Unfortunately I did not enjoy this book very much as it often goes over the fine line. ..Click here to read the full review
