Hold onto your hats. Acclaimed film director, producer and screenwriter Chris Columbus has swapped the big screen for books with House of Secrets, the first book in a brand new trilogy, which he has co-written with Ned Vizzini of MTV’s Teen Wolf fame. House of Secrets is their first collaboration and serves up everything an eight to twelve year old reader could possibly want from an adventure. Join the protagonists - three siblings - on an epic journey, to retrieve a dark book of untold power and uncover the Walker family's secret history. Oh and save their parents ...and maybe even the world. It’s going to be epic and we’re not the only ones who think so. J K Rowling likes it too, saying “A breakneck, jam-packed, roller coaster of an adventure.

A breakneck, jam-packed, roller coaster of an adventure J. K. Rowling

There's a huge amount of anticipation for House of Secrets not least because it's the fiction debut of a writer with impressive form. As a screenwriter, Chris Columbus was responsible for "Gremlins" and "The Goonies"; as a director he's helmed "Home Alone", "Mrs Doubtfire" and the first two Harry Potter films - J K Rowling herself has given the novel her rare seal of approval with a glowing cover quote.
