The Lovereading4Kids comment

A vibrant retelling of the classic story of Little Red Riding Hood which captures the great danger at the heart of the story while also insuring a happy ending! When Little Red Riding Hood sets off to visit her grandmother she has little idea that there will be a greedy wolf waiting to eat her up. The retelling is as boldly captured in its illustrations as it is in its words.

A Piece of Passion from David Bennett, Publisher, Boxer Books

This is special because the author (Bernette Ford) has had a long and distinguished career in New York publishing and the illustrator (Tom Knight) is just starting out in picture books. They make a strong team! Bernette Ford's retelling gets right to the heart of the story and tells it perfectly for this age group. Her language is deceptively simple and draws in the reader. I knew she would bring a new voice to Red Riding Hood. Tom Knight, the illustrator hits just the right tone of character and colour. I love a good team!

Little Red Riding Hood by Tom Knight

Little Red Riding Hood sets off through the woods to visit her Grandma. Before long, who should slink out of the woods but a big, bad, wicked old wolf. When they part, Little Red Riding Hood thinks that is the last she will see of him...but we know better.

Part of the Story House range from Boxer Books which also includes The Three Little Pigs.
