There’s an introduction to their hieroglyphs, what happened at the Temple, the gods they worshipped, how a mummy is made and more. It’s all pitched at an easy to read or easy to understand level but substantiated by accurate facts. Useful as a first introduction to a staple of the curriculum.

They discover that the parachute was invented by Blanchard and his parachuting dog and lots of other stories about the invention of everyday objects!

About the Author

MICK MANNING grew up in West Yorkshire and studied illustration at the Royal College of Art in London. He has written and illustrated over 60 books, many of them for Frances Lincoln, mostly with his wife BRITA GRANSTROM. Their distinctive books have won many awards, including the Smarties Silver Prize, the English Association 4-11 Award and The Royal Society Young People's Book Award. Mick and Brita live in the Scottish Borders with their four sons.
