The Lovereading4Kids comment

Jane Hissey’s timeless classic picture book series Old Bear has been brought back to life by Scribblers books for a new generation of readers. The popular nursery character Old Bear and all his pals are wonderfully evoked through rich colour illustrations and charming playroom adventure stories. Little Bear Lost is the latest limited edition to be released in this delightful collection.

A Piece of Passion from David Salariya – Managing Director, The Salariya Book Company ‘We were delighted when Jane chose Scribblers to publish new editions of her Old Bear books. It is a great responsibility to work with books that have become a cherished part of childhood and introduce them to a new generation. Looking to the future, we also asked Jane to create an entirely new picture book. Featuring a wonderful group of characters and a lively rhyming text, Ruby, Blue and Blanket has all the charm of Old Bear and has delighted everyone familiar with Jane's work’.

Win a copy of HATS OF FAITH

There should be more books like this: in bright, appealing illustrations it tells children how people of different faiths cover their heads to show their love for God. This beautifully illustrated, board book aims to teach children, parents and educators about the shared custom of head covering across the Jewish, Sikh, Christian, Rastafarian, and Islamic faiths. Hats of Faith helps prepare young children for our culturally diverse, modern world and encourages tolerance and understanding.
