The Lovereading4Kids comment
Feisty Oksa Pollock, now queen of the hidden, magical kingdom of Edefia, returns for some darker adventures in which she must follow her destiny which involves facing down some fearsome demons. The forest of lost souls is not a place for the faint hearted. Luckily Oksa has great courage and also great support especially from her magical grandmother Dragomira. Once again, Oksa's adventures are gripping and delightful.
A Piece of Passion from Stephanie Seegmuller and Daniel Seton, Pushkin Children’s Books All around the country, Pollockmaniacs are looking forward to the second book in the phenomenal Oksa Pollock series, The Forest of Lost Souls! After an unbelievable response across the UK to The Last Hope, we’re hugely excited to be publishing this sequel, which sees Oksa and the Runaways’ incredible adventures continue. We think it’s even better than volume one—just as exciting, but with more complex relationships between the characters, more cool creatures, more magic and more terrifying enemies! The authors are coming to London again in February, to meet their UK fans in person, so keep an eye on the Oksa Pollock website for details of events. www.oksapollock.co.uk

Oksa Pollock: the Forest of Lost Souls by Anne Plichota, Wolf Cendrine
This is the second instalment in the Oksa Pollock series. The last day of term—and no one is looking forward to the holidays more than Oksa, still recovering from her epic battle with Orthon McGraw. But rest and recuperation will have to wait...as her best friend Gus has vanished without a trace.
Trapped in a nightmare. No one has ever escaped...Her powers are growing. So are the dangers Oksa Pollock has made some pretty incredible discoveries in the last few months, not least that she's the queen of the lost magical land of Edefia. As if that wasn't enough for any thirteen-year-old to be dealing with, her mother is still desperately ill after being attacked by Edefia's unscrupulous enemies, and now her best friend in the whole world, Gus, has become trapped in the Forest of Lost Souls. Entering that terrifying place is the rescue party: Oksa and a few fellow Runaways-including the moody, mysterious Tugdual. In the forest the group must all face their own personal demons, not to mention an assortment of horrific creatures, in a desperate attempt to bring Gus back alive. But even if Oksa and her group make it through the wastelands and the monsters, there are greater threats to face: betrayal, grief, and the end of the world itself. And it's only just beginning...
The Forest of Lost Souls is the second book in the phenomenal Oksa Pollock series, following on from The Last Hope. The third in the series, The Heart of Two Worlds is coming soon.
