Synopsis

Democracy in Action by Simon Foster

With citizenship education having a key place within the revised curriculum, this series offers a time-saving way to update or expand provision for this vital subject. Democracy in Action presents students with a clear and balanced picture of how the United Kingdom is governed at local, regional, national and European levels. The Citizen and the Law provides accessible, up-to-date information on Britain's laws and on how the courts, police and prison services operate. Human Rights encourages students to develop a sense of global citizenship by engaging with issues ranging from political freedom and economic injustice to the rights of the disabled. The updated Global Concerns student's book adds a crucial global dimension to the series, helping to prepare students for life in a rapidly changing, increasingly globalized society.
