About the Author

This title contains various authors. Alyssa Satin Capucilli is the author of the first story about Tulip and Rex, Tulip Loves Rex, as well as the bestselling Biscuit books and many other beloved children's books. She lives in a book-filled home in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. Everything Goes is a series of books written and illustrated by Brian Biggs. The first books in the series, Everything Goes: On Land and Everything Goes: In the Air, are a celebration of cars, trucks, motorcycles, planes, and other things that go! James Dean's art has sold in more than ninety galleries and shops across the United States. He has devoted his paintings to Pete the Cat for ten years and has turned his natural love for cats into his life's work. James published his first adult book, The Misadventures of Pete the Cat, a history of his artwork, in 2006. He illustrated his first self-published children's book, Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes, in 2008, and the follow-up book, Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes, in 2011. James lives in Savannah, Georgia, with his wife, four cats, and one dog. Judyann Ackerman Grant and her family have raised numerous chickens as well as assorted cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, and goldfish on their farm in upstate New York. Ms. Grant was inspired to write Chicken Said, Cluck! by watching chickens scratch in the new-turned garden every spring. This is her first book. Joan L. Nodset was inspired to write this story nearly forty years ago after catsitting Ptolemy, a friend's lovably moody feline. Ms. Nodset is also the author of Go Away, Dog and Who Took the Farmer's Hat? and wrote Crocodile and Hen: A Bakongo Folktale under the name Joan M. Lexau. She lives in Otisville, New York. J. D. Riley lives in Ohio and is the author of several books about Axel the truck. Lola M. Schaefer is the author of several books for children, including An Island Grows; Pick, Pull, Snap! Where Once a Flower Bloomed, an NCTE Notable Children's Book in the Language Arts; and What's Up, What's Down? She lives with her husband, Ted, in the mountains of north Georgia, where she occasionally observes the back end of a black bear, coyote, or gray fox.
