Synopsis

I am a Dog by Alan Brown

Mum and Dad think I am a boy, but really I am a dog... This little boy goes to the park on a lead, eats dinner on the floor, and digs holes in the garden. But everything he does makes his pongy baby sister cry. So when his dad offers to take him to the pound to pick out his very own dog, he quickly realises he has to become a boy again in order to take care of his new pet.

About the Author

Alan Brown is the author of several children's picture books including Humbugs, illustrated by Adrian Reynolds, and The Incredible Journey of Adrian Rat - illustrated by Ivan Bates (Hodder) and Windhover illustrated by Christian Birmingham (HarperCollins). He lives in Hope Valley, Derbyshire. Jonathan Allen has been illustrating children's books full-time for over ten years working with authors such as Margaret Mahy, Rose Impey and Dick King Smith. He has also written many books himself, including best-selling titles, Chicken Licken, Wolf Academy and Two by Two by Two. Jonathan now lives in South Cambridgeshire with his wife and two children, Isobel and Alasdair, and their two kittens, Shadow and Magic.
