Synopsis

World Team by Tim Vyner

From America to Japan, Lebanon to Brazil, it's a fairly safe bet to say that, at any given point of the day or night, there are children playing, watching or listening to football all over the world. For instance, while Joe plays football in the afternoon at school in England, the sun is rising on Tico's game in Brazil, and it is setting on Ravi's practice in India. We journey around the globe to see the different football fans in their respective countries all dreaming of world cup glory before finally uniting in the ultimate world team. Tim Vyner's ingenious book encompasses geography and the concept of time zones within the far more appealing framework of the world's favourite game.

Tim Vyner lives with his wife and children in Bath. He teaches art at Bath Spa University College.
