Synopsis

The Noisiest Night by Thomas Taylor

The sun is setting, it's time for bed...but Clovis isn't at all sleepy! He has decided to be a night-tiger. He just needs someone to play with. Then he sees something flickering in the fading light...fireflies! Clovis plays 'I-spy' with the fireflies all night long and his boisterous, noisy participation in their game disturbs the slumbers of his rainforest friends. Then, when the new day starts, can you guess who's the tiredest tiger in the whole jungle?

Reviews

[Praise for The Loudest Roar]: 'An ideal picture book...This is the sort of book that a 3-year-old would get to know by heart after a few readings, thus laying a foundation for reading and a love of books. School Librarian Journal, vol 50 no 4

About the Author

Thomas Taylor

Thomas Taylor was born in Norwich, but grew up by the sea in Wales. His childhood was mostly about drawing, something he learnt to do in Maths classes.

After art school, Thomas set out to illustrate books, then to write them himself. His first commission was the cover art for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. Following this, he pursued a career in picture books, mostly from France where he lived for many years.

Thomas now lives on the south coast of England and has two sons. Sometimes they ask for help with their maths homework, so now they’re learning to draw too.

His debut novels published simultaneously in June 2012 were Haunters and Dan and the Dead.
