Oxford Better French by Oxford Dictionaries

Simple and easy to use on a daily basis, this neat vocabulary book provides 1,000 top French words in manageable chunks. Over 40 pages of themed vocabulary lists are based on the curriculum and topics useful for school and for travel, from basic colours and numbers to ordering meals in a restaurant. Each word is set in a sentence to give context and full English translations are provided for all words and phrases. The next section provides help with essential grammar including verbs, tenses, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, question words, etc. The third and final section provides sample questions and answers on common topics like telling the time and talking about family and friends, for support with spoken French and conversation. Fun activities at the end of each section help to reinforce the essential vocabulary and language support provided in the book.
